Pastor Kent Hails gave his life to Christ at a young age in the Christian church, setting the foundation for a lifelong calling to ministry. As a teen, he became actively involved in the youth ministry at Bonnie Church of God, where he also met his future wife, Elizabeth—his beautiful bride and lifelong partner in ministry.
Kent attended Lincoln Christian University, where he deepened his theological training and heart for pastoral leadership. After college, Kent and Elizabeth were married and have been serving in ministry together ever since. For them, ministry has never been a solo calling. They are a united team, committed to serving God's people side by side.
In 2016, God blessed Kent and Elizabeth with their son, Eli, who has brought incredible joy to their lives and ministry. As a family, they love serving others and living out their faith together.
Kent pastored a small but faithful congregation in Belle Rive, Illinois, for 16 years. When he and Elizabeth felt the Lord leading them into a new season, they moved to Harrisburg, where Elizabeth was already teaching. Kent used that time for spiritual rest and renewal, and soon became an active and vital part of our church family. During this season, he faithfully supported our previous pastors and served in many areas of the church.
In 2023, Kent was called to serve as the history and Bible teacher at New Hope Christian Academy, a role in which he continues to invest in the lives of students with wisdom and passion. Kent and Elizabeth are also highly involved in the local Boy Scouts, where they continue to make a meaningful impact in the community.
In 2025, Pastor Kent answered the call to step in as our Senior Pastor. His heart for God, for people, and for the church is unmistakable. He is a visionary leader who believes deeply in the one—the one lost sheep, the one soul in need of Jesus, the one life that can be transformed.
Pastor Kent leads with humility, passion, and a bold vision for the future. His desire is to see the church grow in love, truth, and purpose, all for the glory of God.
